If the book is crowded and active, it’s most likely to have been time. It doesn’t matter if you’re betting on the NFL or NCAA football; betting on football is intense and fast during the season. For those who are new to betting on sports, it may be somewhat confusing, but football betting boils down to two types-straight wagers as well as a parlay.

Football Betting Straight Bets:

Here’s the workhorse for any winning football bettor. A straight bet means you’re betting only on one football match. If you place bets in more than one match on the same ticket, that’s a parlay, and we’ll talk about that in a moment.

If you place a straight football bet, you may put your money on a particular side or total. When you bet on a side, you “pick the side” in the game. Let’s take, for instance, that the New England Patriots are playing the Seattle Seahawks. If you’re planning to bet aside, you will bet with either Patriots as well as the Seahawks.

Each game is an all-time point total (except NCAA football, most games). This is the number of points that are scored by each team. If you place a bet on an amount, you’re betting on the under or the over. For instance, let’s say the total is 47, and you take them over. To win, both teams need to combine for more than 48 points (47 would be a push, which would mean you get your bet back).

Football Betting – Parlays:

Okay, so you know about straight bets. Straight bets are when you bet on just one specific thing for each ticket. If you wish to bet on several things simultaneously, it’s called a parlay. You can bet on 2 or 20 things (depends on the betting book).

For instance, let’s say you bet for the Seahawks and go over the amount on your ticket. This would be a two-team parlay (even it’s technically only one team in the parlay).

The more items you place onto the card, the more you’ll win if they all land. So, naturally, the more items you put on your ticket, the harder it is to succeed.

Parlay bets are an all-or-nothing thing. If one pick doesn’t work, the water is gone. Some sportsbooks will run specials to get close, but that’s very rare.

If you’re interested in placing football bets using parlay tickets, it is possible to look into “teasers,” which are parlay tickets that have added points to help you. For example, instead of opting for the Packers -10, you might buy them for 3. Naturally, rewards are lower since the risk is reduced.

It’s fun to bet on and there’s nothing more thrilling than hitting the sportsbook with an enormous winning ticket. I hit betting on straight football and also parlays throughout the entire season. I am looking forward to my next NFL along with NCAA football seasons.
